Every DJ has a story that starts with “the deck wouldn’t…”

These four end sets most often. DJ Scan checks for every one before you leave the house.

GUID exFAT

The deck doesn’t see your stick.

You plug in and nothing happens. Your Mac formats new sticks as exFAT on a GUID partition map. A CDJ-3000 won’t mount a GUID stick, and a CDJ-2000NXS2 can’t read exFAT at all.

The track won’t load.

Every deck plays a fixed list of formats. FLAC won’t load on a CDJ-2000NXS, ALAC won’t load on an XDJ-RX3, and a CDJ-400 plays MP3 and nothing else.

    Drop in your music folder and pick the decks at your gig. DJ Scan decodes every track from start to finish and gives each one a verdict: Will play, Check first or Won’t play.

Before you buy

Does it work on Windows or Linux?

No. DJ Scan is a Mac app. It needs macOS 13 Ventura or later, and runs natively on Apple silicon and Intel Macs.

Is it a subscription?

No. You pay $19.99 once. There’s no account to make and nothing to renew.

Will it change my music?

No. DJ Scan only reads your tracks. It never re-encodes, retags, renames or moves them. It only writes to a stick when you click Format for Decks or ask it to remove macOS leftovers.

Do I still need rekordbox?

Yes, for playlists, cues and beat grids. DJ Scan works alongside it: check your tracks before you import them, then check the stick after you export. It knows Engine DJ libraries for Denon decks too.

How does it spot a fake 320?

An MP3 made from a 128 kbps file has nothing above about 16 kHz, and re-encoding it at 320 can’t bring the highs back. DJ Scan decodes every track and measures where the sound stops, so a fake shows up whatever its tags say.
